Teaching and Learning
Online courses in education and psychology – enrol for our Autumn term now
The challenge of individual differences faces every teacher, principal, and curriculum researcher. To meet that challenge, teachers are typically equipped with media and materials that are ‘one size fits all’ and that have been designed primarily for a narrow and elusive group of ‘regular’ students, we now know that no one child learns in the same way.Â
Nowadays, iPads are in most schools in Ireland, but the question remains: are they used to best effect? When used to their potential, they offer enormous possibilities to enrich learning and support inclusion. This course showcases best practice settings from around the world.
Integrating technology has long been a policy aim in Ireland; however, the results have been patchy. In this course, we try to take a fresh look at getting the best out of ICT, for our students and for ourselves as teacher. This core aim of this course is to introduce some simple technologies that will challenge and extend our pupils’ understanding and creativity.
